Cate Foster (MA, ISMPP CMPP™) worked at Blackwell Science for 17 years in regular journal and supplement production departments, initially as an editor then as a manager. That experience provided key training in the transfer to working in med comms as an editor and publication manager, working for Watermeadow Medical (part of Ashfield Healthcare Communications)  for 13 years. Cate has a background in publication ethics and transparency, having authored two articles on transparency in medical publishing, and guidelines for congress materials.

Liz Wager (PhD) is a freelance publications consultant and trainer on medical writing, publication planning and publication ethics, and Visiting Professor at the University of Split School of Medicine in Croatia. Before setting up her company, Sideview, in 2001, she worked in the publishing and pharmaceutical industries (for Blackwell Scientific, Janssen Cilag and GlaxoSmithKline). She chaired the Committee on Publication Ethics from 2009-12 and was Co-Editor-in-Chief of Research Integrity & Peer Review until 2018. She is an author of Good Publication Practice for Company-Sponsored Research (GPP3, 2015), the Wiley-Blackwell Best Practice Guidelines on Publication Ethics (2006), and several COPE guidelines (including the flowcharts). Her book on Getting Research Published: an A to Z of Publication Strategy is now in its third edition.

Jackie Marchington (PhD, ISMPP CMPP™) has over 25 years’ experience as a medical publication professional. She is passionate about ethical publication practices and fair attribution (aka copyright geek). Jackie is co-chair of ISMPP’s Advocacy and Outreach Committee and was a  member of the now retired Global Alliance of Publication Professionals. She is the Director of Global Operations for Caudex (a McCann Health Company), responsible for compliance and ethics, as well standard operating procedures across the company.

Mina Patel (PhD) is Senior Director, Global Scientific Communications, Alexion Pharmaceuticals Incorporated. As a leader of scientific/medical communications teams within mid-size pharmaceutical companies, she has been responsible for developing and executing scientific publications and presentations for marketed products and those in development across a number of therapeutic areas. She gained extensive experience through diverse leadership positions in areas ranging from pre-clinical drug discovery research to medical strategy to scientific/medical communications within the pharmaceutical and allied industries. Mina is a co-author of Good Publication Practice (GPP2), a steering committee member on GPP3 and is actively involved with ISMPP (past member of the Board of Trustees), TIPPA, and CBI congresses. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of scientific/medical communications and publications in both an agency and industry environment. Her comprehensive perspective on the field stems from this direct experience on both sides of the fence.

Steve Banner (PhD, MSc) has 9 years’ experience as a medical publication professional, gained working across several different agencies, recently (April 2019) joining Oxford PharmaGenesis as a Principal Consultant. He has worked across several publication accounts and has substantial experience developing and submitting congress materials, encountering many of the challenges that face publication professionals when attempting to adhere to good publication practice with regard to congress materials. He is an advocate for good practice within the medical communication industry,  and for the development and promotion of clear guidance that ensures publication professionals, their clients and academics can develop compliant materials for the healthcare arena.

Nina C Kennard (ISMPP CMPP™) has 18 years’ experience as a medical communication and publication professional. During this time she has led both European and global medical communication projects including publication strategy and development, in a wealth of therapy areas. From a scientific and medical writing background, Nina is an advocate for the transparent publishing of scientific data and believes that improving access to real world, patient-focused evidence will continue to improve quality of care for patients. She is a patient reviewer for the BMJ and an active member of ISMPP – helping to promote publication ethics and transparency. Nina is the Head of Cello Health MedErgy, the medial affairs division of Cello Health Plc, where she leads a large team of scientific and account management staff while providing executive oversight and strategic direction on key accounts.

Rianne Stacey (PhD, ISMPP CMPP™) has more than 10 years’ experience as a medical communications and publications professional.  She began her career in medical communications agencies, gaining extensive experience supporting global publication planning, strategy and development, alongside other medical affairs projects and initiatives. During her agency life, Rianne was keen advocate of good publication practice and transparency in publication, championing not only the letter of guidelines, but the spirit of them when applied to real-life practice. In 2016, she undertook the first of two pharmaceutical industry secondments, taking up a Global Scientific Communications Manager role. Rianne is now directly employed within the pharmaceutical industry, working in the Medical Communications team at Jazz Pharmaceuticals and still enjoys being an active voice for good practice and ethics in publications.
